An art exhibition
selected from the Yunnan Province of China
Curated by Dr. Yu Wang
An introduction to the exhibition:
The current exhibition, Beyond the Colored
Clouds, provides a unique opportunity for
Midwesterners to experience firsthand a group
of important artworks selected from the Yunnan
Province of the People’s Republic of China.
In Chinese “Yun” means “clouds”
and “Nan” means “south.”
Various colors and shapes of the clouds over the
Yunnan plateau give the area its full name, “South
of the Colorful Clouds.” This exhibition
goes beyond the colored clouds covering the sky
of the Yunnan plateau to reveal to our audience
the mysterious yet fascinating art created by
the Yunnan people through continuous leaning,
experiments, and new developments. To achieve
this goal all the artworks included in this exhibition
have been carefully selected by Dr. Wang from
his collections and are organized in three parts.
